I was pleased & proud to learn today of my endorsement by the United Auto Workers Region 1 in my bid for re-election to the Oakland County Commission in the new 18th District. Knowing it is somewhat rare for unions to endorse in primary elections, I especially thank Chuck Hall, the screening committee, & all the members, both active & retired, for their faith and support.

Dearest Friends:
It's been an emotional morning, mostly because I have the best friends and volunteers in the world. Losing my elected position come January is mostly because I have the best friends and volunteers in the world. Losing my elected position come January is of course disappointing, but I also feel bad because everybody worked so hard and we didn’t win. I've gotten huge support, and that is what really matters. Thank you so much.
We started something very cool here in Ferndale 15 years ago, and that cannot be taken away from us.
Give me a few days to recover, get back my life . . . and not to worry, I’m not going anywhere soon. The bad guys here were not our fellow Democrats or my opponent or the good folks of Huntington Woods. The bad guys here are the Republicans in the county, and at the state, who did this immoral, undemocratic, selfish power grab that put us in this position.
I owe a huge thanks to a lot of you. Thanks for having my back and having faith in our ideas, and me.

service, and empowerment of "the least of these" among us. Craig Covey is such a
person. He has persevered over a lifetime, in professional, and public
service, to demonstrate what it means to be a neighbor, and to contribute
to one's community. Oakland County will be well served with Commissioner Covey
participating in it's circle of leadership.

OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AGAIN FAILS TO PASS SIGNIFICANT ETHICS REFORM
Democrats on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners last week attempted to vote on Resolution #12018 - the Oakland County Ethics Policy. This three year effort to create a comprehensive ethics policy for county employees failed again, with all but one Republican voting to force the policy to remain stuck in committee. Democrats all voted yes for the policy & to bring it for a full vote.
